Do you think is dead?
I'm still playing it, of course, the game has more than one year that came out... and the "Fever" is gone, but there are a few of us who still on it...
I personally, find it very fun, and here at home, we play it daily with my friends and bots...
(Everyone has a computer on his/her room and my copy of ETQW on their hard disks, so we LAN it)
And when they are tired... i go online to rank myself... for me, ETQW STILL ALIVE!!!
Public Beta was an okay-success for Quake Wars, but the game did not pass Enemy Territory's success.
When I was asking why my team was not doing the actual objective, this one statement made me stop playing.
"I'm XP whoring."
Now, I just play with bots.
I've been playing since the first day. never seemed dead to me.
but... I've never been able to rank up. which is why i stopped playing this game.
YMBFJ as soon as you complete two of the same objective you will rank up. Even playing the same class for long enough will gain you a few ranks. Are you sure you were playing it right?Originally Posted by combatwolf
IMHO the game is alive and well apart from all the ding dongs running around asking if the game is dead.
I'm still playing the game. Although I'm more into xbox 360 live nowadays (left4dead, dead space, BF: Bad company etc)Originally Posted by kenjin09

When I tried the beta, there was nobody playing. And, I was not too impressed the game play or the graphics.
After playing the beta, I never did understand what all the hype was about. So I never bought the game.
it has been my favorite multiplayer since it came out. But I have to admit that the game has a few things I dont like. But three out of all of them bug me the most.
One is that the doom3 engine can't go faster than 60fps and for a game like ETQW where things happen so fast and soldiers move so quick smoothness is kind of lost. Things start to look laggy even on a system like mine. I get solid 60fps and I still hate it. I wish it was an engine like maybe half life 2 where fps is not locked at all. It is as smooth and fast as your card allows it to be.
Anyway, second thing I don't like about the game is that they made the game feel too real in many aspects like going prone to shoot, yet they made jumping stupidly unrealistic lol. Omg do I hate how every1 jumps in that game.
third, I think that ETQW should make weapons a lot more unaccurate when running only. That way you'll make people care about acuracy so that they prone and croush in order to get a kill. Make burst mode, single shot mode, stuff like that. That will improve the gameplay a lot in my opinion. I say bring more the accuracy aspect into the game in other words.
the bad net coding and the 30 FPS rendering method is what killed it for me

There are supposed to be weapon imbalances. It's not supposed to be symmetrical like Wolf:ET.
i wish i had the pc version
i have the ps3 version and it doesnt save XP for the next round
it only saves XP for campaigns and it resets once the campaign is finished
you lose your xp on PC when the campain ends and if you are playing objective. you lose your xp every match.Originally Posted by mathwizi2005
