    Quake Live

    Hey

    now xfire supports Quake Live (it's in the games list). So xfire founds quake live on my pc. But if i play it nothing happens. No xfire in-game. Could that be that xfire hasn't finished?

    Thx

    RE: Quake Live

    Hello there! I have a problem with QuakeLive on Xfire too.

    I've done the setting, checked the "Web Game" box and, Xfire's games list now recognizes the game, it appears in my games list.

    The problem is, when I start playing online, Xfire's activity report doesn't show I'm playing it.

    From what I've read, here's what I'd have to do. Download and install the Xfire XO toolbar, which is used for detecting web games. I have done that and still nothing. A thing to mention is that, I use Mozilla Firefox as browser for QuakeLive, it's the one I installed the pluggin and toolbar on.

    If there's anyone who got it working on Mozilla, lemme know please. And no, I don't have any add-on that blocks scripts.

    I know some of you will recommend IE, but, I'd like to know if you got it working with Mozilla FF, since the XO toolbar now supports Mozilla too.

    Thanks in advance!

    RE: Quake Live

    hmm, I havent had any problems really but I do have a couple possibly helpful links. (helped me anyway)

    this http://www.quakelive.com/forum/showt...660#post157660

    and this

    still need help?

    I found a fix, but it requires you not being afraid to go messing around w/ your xfire_games.ini.

    after looking at this http://wiki.xfire.com/index.php/Games.ini_Flags

    i messed w/ a few till i could get it working. all i did was add FORCE_REHOOK and BLOCK_ASYNC to catch the keys (w/out them bleeding through, and STOP fighting w/ QL for control of the mouse)

    I've also since moved to using QLPrism instead of firefox, so I've recently removed the WEBGAME flag while testing (as I now have an .exe to point it to, I no longer need XO toolbar) My current example looks like this:

    [5771]
    LongName=Quake Live
    ShortName=quakel
    LauncherExe=quakelive.exe
    DetectExe=quakelive.exe
    InGameRenderer=OGL
    InGameFlags=ENABLE_MOUSE|WGLSWAPLAYERBUFFERS|SUBCLASS_WNDPaROC|BLOCK_ASYNC|FORCE_REHOOK
    InGameOGLTextureOffset=32000

    If you want to get it working w/ your browser the way it is, just add the "|BLOCK_ASYNC|FORCE_REHOOK" flags to the end. hope this helps SOMEBODY. enjoy guys! and GL HF!!

    hope this helps.

    [edit] coulda sworn i got it working 100%, just played and it seems to STILL fight for control of the mouse when unpaused. maybe I deleted the wrong one.(I made several variations while testing) anyway, till I figure out what the heck i did, it still works, but the mouse only behaves properly when paused.) stinks too, I posted this fix a couple different places. now I gotta go back and fix it. I feel like an ass.
