I downloaded bf 2142 from x fire and when i tried to play it it said it was missing file d3dx_29.dll i went to dll.com downloaded it and it now runs but shakes so much it is unplayable i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still the same. Anyone got any ideas?? PLEASE.

Btw, I'm having the same problem with the missing part, could you please post a link to that .dll file please?
I did the directx thing, got it to do everything it needed to to sign in. When i select my name, then it goes to contacting EA server it stays there, i guess you can say it locks up. I try Control, Alt, Delete to no avail. It just stays like that. I have to hard reboot the comp. Am i the only one having this prob? I have a pretty high end machine.

All of you, do you have the latest DirectX ( http://www.microsoft.com/directx ) ?
The latest currently is released 8/23/2006.
Also make sure you have your device drivers up to date.
