It depends what style of gaming you chose to play as, If you like Flying, your better off going to a modded server on Battle Of Britian, you like Ground fighting, your better off going to Berlin on any server, Etc.
If you like ship and air power maps midway is the one to choose
It also depends on who your playing with. I think that any map can be fun for any player...I've had fun on all of the maps.

My personnal favorites are Hellendorn for the natters, Berlin and Stalingrad for IO, Aberdeen for tanks, Midway for war boats, Coral Sea for planes

My fav's are Gazala, El Almeheim or whatever it's called, Wake and I of The Phillips. Great sniping maps.
By far the best "siege" map is Omaha Beach!

i would say coral sea, invasion of Philippines, omaha beach, and battle of britain are the best.
Cause classic Bf1942 is a poor shooter, I won't say a thing about those silly "original" maps. BUT! Forgotten Hope Mod made it great quite realistic experience, so I'll list here mapa from the mod:
-Fall Wies - obviously, cause it's Polish campaign... and I am Polish.
-Eastern Blitz - same reason.
-Prokhorovka - spacious, good for tank madness.
-Seelow Heights - advanced weapons of eastern front
-Alpenfestung - lots of sweet weaponery.

good maps are telemak or just shotgun maps
my fave map is omaha beach,its pretty fun because nearly everyone tries to snipe and you can actually end up killing like 4 ppl if you can get a nade through the bunker opening or just be a american medic and charge into the bunkers and fire at everything that moves and you will get major points.
invasion of Philippines is a beautiful map to play on. If you like shooting then best install a mod
