    Xfire Skins!

Welcome to the Xfire skins forum! As some of you may have noticed, there's a new option that's under the Tools menu: Skins. The functionality is pretty much built, and we'll be releasing skins here as they become created.

In answer to what I think will be the most popular question: you can create your own skins. The system is designed to provide a huge amount of flexibility for advanced users, with the ability to create entirely custom interfaces. At the same time, people who just want to tweak prexisting skins will be able to have a custom look with a minimal amount of effort. We'll be posting some more technical info on the skin file structure soon. If you're interested in creating your own skins (and have some experience doing so!) feel free to post here..we still haven't decided how much we'll be hosting versus just having people post links to their own skins, but here's the place the community will develop...

If you're looking to download skins, there are two places to check out. First, we here at Xfire host our own page with some of the most popular full skins available. This doesn't include skin mods, themes, or other changes to existing Xfire skins. The Xfire skins library is available here, and as more skins get created we'll be adding to the library!

If you're looking for skin mods, themes, or other skins not hosted here, the most comprehensive place on the web is Gunowar's site, Gun's Ammo Crate. Head on over there to get a look at the skins that have been created so far.

For the smart ones in here. You can enable the skin option in Xfire by making a map in your xfire map, called skins, and in there you can make a new map, which will appear in the skins menu.
That is the only thing i found out right now. Go ahead and try some more.
But when are we getting to know how to make our own skins? What the filenames are, the format and everything...

We're having a couple of skins made by professional graphics artists. Once at least one of those is complete, we'll release the full info.

The skins are relatively open (you'll be able to see the entire file structure) so anyone will be able to make one. We just don't have any fully developed ones yet, or any documentation, so there's not much to give yet We're counting on people reverse engineering the ones that become available until we're able to put down full documentation on the system.

I cannot select skins. Is it because I don't have any new ones? Oh and where can I find skins for it?

    That makes no sense...
