    How to disable game autodetect

Is there ANY way to disable that annoying game autodetect that xfire does every damn time I either start it or open the game tab in options?

I searched around the forum and found nothing else than an year old unaswered post.

It also seems to crash my BT Home Hub 80% of the time upon completion, so I'm forced to skip it.

    bluedraco,

You can skip it using the 'Skip' button (except when Xfire updates... it will not give you the option to skip it the first time after an update). But... if you skip it, your games won't be tracked, detected, etc... It's really up to you. That's why we added the skip button though. So you'd have the option to use it if you just wanted to get onto Xfire quickly and didn't care if your games are detected.

first of all, thx for the aswer

I saw the skip button, but it's still kinda of annoying to have to stay there wathcing the program starting and standing ready to press the button as soon as it appears.

Also there is no skip button in the game tab of the option menu, think how many times the program does the autodetect if, for exemple, one is using the option to add parameters to the exe while lunching it, it rarely takes only 1 try.

I really wish I could disable it, if there is any way ( even if complicated ).

I whould be happy even if I didn't had that feature at all and I had to make xfire detect all games manually, so go figure :P

and again a similar thread has been left unaswered, at this point all I can think is that the programmers don't want to do it for some reason ( and the only reasons that comes up in my mind aren't exactly good ).

If we allowed users to disable "Detecting games" entirely, it would be a nightmare.

Xfire Tech Support would have to answer thousands of threads every week about "why are my games not detected?" (well .. more than we already do :P ).

It would also cause problems after Game Updates.

Click the skip button. It's why we put it there.

The whole point is to be free from that "Click the skip button".
You can easy mark Option to disable Game Detect as Advanced, mark it as read and display warring etc Think again about this.

RE: How to disable game autodetect

Seriously? Only reason I can think of for this feature to be forced on is that xFire is collecting data for marketing purposes.
