this should disable ingame xfire since its untested that this wont make any bugs while playing
restart Xfire once you have altered the code to apply it
will test and add it to the games list if there arent any bugs with it
works fine, thanks
Hello! Im having the same issue! I was wondering where u type this code thingy that u wrote. Alittlebit more baby steps for the not so good computerpeople ?
should also mention i tried finding this xfire_game.ini filethingy aswell, but i dont have this file if that should be to any more information.
Thanks in advance
u go to
Un-hide your folder then go to : C:/ProgramData/Xfire/xfire_games.ini
you have the file trust me on that one its hidden by default to prevent unnecessary alterations to game detections by people who(like you) dont have much knowledge about it...Originally Posted by lilpelilpe

also notice how you used / instead of \ for the adress bar ? your working with windows not internetC:/ProgramData/Xfire/xfire_games.ini
open windows explorer
and type in the adressbar
IF Windows XP
C:\Program Files\Xfire\
IF Windows Vista/Windows 7
C:\ProgramData\Xfire\
in this folder you can find the Xfire_games.ini file u need to alter for this to work
Thanks alot, when i manually wrote that in searchfield " programdata" instead of programfiles it showed. I changed the text gonna try restart xfire and check now!
Strange. Xfire still wont give me this message " xfire ingame mode " or something like that when i open wow. I had it before changing the 64bit. Now xfire wont activate my wow. i can launch wow with xfire but xfire is not inside the game for broadcasting and so on. have the option to enable broadcasting etc and keybinds for it. have been streaming alot it just stopped working after the 64bit client. When i changed the text it detect my 64bit exe file, so thats not the issue either. hmm!
Should mention ive tried disabling AVG antivirus + spybot etc, any program that could be an issue for it to launch that is. And it wasnt that. Im using directx 9 in wow aswell. Using windows 7 if that should be to any info. Tried to reinstall xfire aswell, also changing that note that was posted up in this thread. Xfire just wont detect my wow at all when i launch wow
I try this too, but my Problem is that now WoW Crashes, if i start with DX11

If anyone still has any other solutions please share them with us. I also did what Luminous suggested in changing the code in the ini file. I've had the same issues as both Manta and lilpelipe afterwards - with it still not detecting in game or it crashing and then forcing me to run the wow-repair utility.
The solution posted by Luminous worked fine. Thank you ^_^
I tried the solution posted by Luminous and it stills not working.
Even if I open the game from Xfire or not, when I press the hotkeys, it's not streaming? I tried to change the keys, stills nothing.
So, once you do the line code fix, in order for the 64 bit client to allow for in-game chatting, just go to your installation folder for WoW, in the WTF folder and delete the config.WTF file. Run WoW, it will have you read/agree to the terms and conditions again, and you'll also need to re-type your email if you normally save it and then it works. Tried it on mine. =D
I have an issue with this.
If I run xfire alone no problem
If I run WoW64 alone no problem
If I run xfire first then WoW64 -> crash on login screen
If I run WoW64 first then xfire -> crash 1 min into the game
This is clearly the fault of xfire. Please fix this.
