    Does Xfire influence your gameplay?

A simple question that I thought would make for an interesting discussion. We'd like to know if Xfire influences the games you play & if so, how. If you do not see an option that applies to you or multiple apply to you, then feel free to post a response that is more appropriate to you.

In my case, both 3 & 4 apply; although 4 is an easy one for me given that most of the games I buy are for the purpose of adding to Xfire anyways.

I tend to play my games that are supported by Xfire more than the ones that aren't, but I don't only play supported games.

I don't game much these days, and I've always been real late to buying new games, so I don't think I've ever gotten a game which wasn't supported. But this has been largely coincidental, as I don't really check these things before getting a game. I check if it's a game that I want to play, and that's about all.

absolutely, today is like a kind of obsession, is like I cant play a game if this isnt supported, i dont know why, , thats why when a game isnt sopported like Fur Fighters, Metal Blob Solid, or One Must Fall Battlegrounds, i made topics, but not always have luck, sometimes i dont play a game that I REALLY want to play because of this, i´m really sick :P

Those ads make me intentionally never want to try those game and I will do everything in my power to insult them and ridicule them at every turn :P

On another note, I only play games supported by Appstalker, which is a program my friends and I made, which detects every game.

And, when Xfire supports a game I am quite weary since the whole "Skyrim incident" which caused me hours are grief just to find out Xfire was crashing my game -________-

Yes, most of the games marketed in the banner seem to be targeted to kids far younger than the average user (or at least, the average users that I know the general ages of). Or there are the ads for whatever East Asian MMO happens to be trying the hardest that month, marketing itself with images of giant eyed female characters in highly impractical armor, assuming they aren't just irritating looking children with giant heads.

    *EDIT*

As if to prove me wrong, the next two ads are for Everquest, which, while I wouldn't play it, doesn't fit into either category, and for dog food. I guess if I had a dog that one might matter? It's hardly a game though.

Wasn't just Xfire that was causing the problem. The Steam Overlay was also causing the same crashes. The only way around it (considering you had a large amount of RAM installed) was to enable LMA.

If a game isn't supported I'll play it anyway, but not as much.
If Xfire for some reason is down and no logging in I'm less likely to play anything unless it's a game not supported.

As far as the games in the adds go I avoid them as they are usally all F2P and I just don't like F2P, though it hasn't stopped me looking at a few.

I barely ever use xfire anymore anyway. When the new client comes out, maybe xfire will slightly influence what games I play, but it needs to support Steam better, and enbseries, because I have mostly Steam games, and I love using enbseries.

Before the second update to the game, I was able to work around using Steam in-game entirely by using the TESV.exe instead of the Skyrim Launcher and it worked well, once I turned off Xfire.

I miss the old days where a simple .exe was ALL that was required to use a game. Not Origin, Steam, [insert other crappy forced app here], etc. Xfire doesn't fit into that category at least, well not yet anyways.

RE: Does Xfire influence your gameplay?

    So lets rephrase WonderWhyHeLovesThor question

"Would u not buy BF3 cus xfire is **** and doesn't support it ingame"

To which my answer would be lol no i don't use this **** no more. As i said by BF3 you must Evolve or die, you not remember me saying that. Said it before i even found a epic replacement for u, ugh what was that called again

"is trolling the xfire forums fun?"

    God yes

You do know you can still use the majority of XIG features while not logged into Xfire, right? The only differences is that time does not track, you can't chat with your friends & you can't broadcast. Sure this may make people say, "What's the point." My point is that there is still some functionality there even while not logged into Xfire. Screenshots & videos are enough for me to have Xfire running even if I can't log in.

I consider games to be a useless time waste, so the question is irrelevant to me.

Time spent posting in over a dozen topics on a gaming site in a desperate attempt to look cool, however, is time well spent.

RE: Does Xfire influence your gameplay?

Years ago it did. I wasn't playing games that were not supported by xfire thus spending a lot of time in the "Game suggestions" section. But well in the past 2 years it didn't matter I guess. But if I run a game and xfire didn't detect it, I'm willing to exit it and re-detect, if I'm aware that, that game has in game.
