My First Opinions on the New "Phoenix" Skin

I was hopefully anticipating the release of a new skin that would finally modernize Xfire, so when I read the release notes of the latest update, I was excited to see that they had included the "Phoenix" skin.

However, I was greatly disappointed by this theme, and I'll tell you why. As programs modernize, they are supposed to become cleaner, sleeker, and more sensible in their usability. Sadly, this theme does exactly the opposite. Larger toolbars and bulkier buttons make it seem like Xfire took a step back on the timeline, and they are an eyesore to me and most definitely to those with smaller monitors.

Until Xfire looks at its competitor programs (Steam, Raptr, etc.), and modernizes their program completely, I am going to be using alternative clients to speak with my Xfire friends.

RE: My First Opinions on the New "Phoenix" Sk

The more I look at this skin, the more I feel it was designed around an iPhone look. Or something similar.

I stand by my comment in another thread though, make the older "default" skins available for download on the skins page for those that may want to keep the older looks. Don't just replace them so they are lost forever.
