so I've herd that they "dumb downed" the Protoss but that's the race I started on and I'm pretty ok with them a few wins here and there but I have not played in forever so I'll prob suck lol.
Anyways, I've heard the best race to go with is Terran. I guess that's something that they have not toyed with as much and I'm playing not Zerg, I never understood how to play them properly.
A quick reply would be awesome since I'm thinking of getting back in game.

Protoss and Terran are the bests races out there, in every competitive league (GSL for example) top players are mostly Terran.
I play as Zerg but i dont care if they are weak in some cases, it's pretty fun and hard to play it and i like challenges.
am I still "safe" to play Protoss?

I've started to play zerg in sc2 with no rts expirience, coz I enjoy it when game is maximum challenging. Top 20 gold atm, and it's still hardest part of the game for me to manage larvae and do not miss a single inject.
Top8 master terran here. I've been playing since release and have played every race extensively.
Protoss - Still the easiest race to play, like SC1. Your units are strong and the macro mechanics are the easiest to execute. You can get very far by just defending and macroing up a large army of high tech units, since your tier3 is pretty much the strongest in the game.
Terran - A very mixed bag. There are a lot of strong timing attacks and cheeses that you can easily pull off in every matchup, but if you want to play a solid macro style you're going to have a pretty tough time. Learning how to macro and manage your production facilities takes a lot of work, and your units require a lot of micro & positioning to be effective. Requires the most hand speed in general.
Zerg - Probably the hardest to play, just because it requires a lot of gamesense. The macro is easier than terran since all your production comes from hatcheries, but still not easy by any means since you need to manage larvae injects & creep spread. Learning when to drone and when to make units is going to take a long time and a lot of trial and error. Good luck.
