We're working on planning out a V1 API for Xfire - we'd love to hear your thoughts!
An advanced way to see your friendlist displaying near their names their last active day and so on like on steam, would be easier to clean the list that way without going to each's profile.
I believe that the first thing to focus on in an API would be to expose the most basic data first.
Expose Getting and Setting methods for as much user profile information as possible. Things like nicknames, game hours played, preferences, recent games played, current game being played, status information, the list goes on.
Once your developers have a basic API ready, then you can start working on more difficult things like exposing Xfire Client methods. Things like Xfire hooking methods that would allow us to override or amend existing algorithms.
And some more to list but a few:
Game detections, live-streaming access, VOIP, chat (including chat rooms), and servers.
Anything that could be tweaked should be made visible through the API.
v1 i wanna see v12 power
And honestly ^^^
Friend request ability for outside the xfire client. For reasons unmentioned im not running it anymore but would still like to utilize the effectiveness of my account (threw the certain sites etc where i now use my account) without having to reload the ap ever ever again.
Sorry i did a value on my soul and realised it was more valuable then first imaginable.
You're kidding. That extra click is too strenuous???
No, but it's all about convenience with these chat clients, you know.Originally Posted by wondergamer1978

Hah, all the forumfags who would ever use an API have left already. Y'all should go find any coders on your friends lists and ask them to post here.

I think as far as an API goes, we need to see voice and text based communication (which includes friend pairing and whatnot), and quite possibly an XMPP interface. Simply adding an XMPP frontend could save you guys a huge hassle in building your own API.
For those that think API is the user interface ... read this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Applica...ming_interface![]()
Hey, they asked you for suggestions, not your life stories, stick to the topic, geez...
Welcome to Xfire , sweetie.Originally Posted by babigurll
