Still zerg
Zerg is indeed much harder to play a a high competitive level. But at a lower level i'd say its the easyer race to play.
For me, i can't play terran. I suck at terran and is hardest race for me to play.
Protoss is easy to play at lower levels when there is not as much harass, but in higher levels its abit harder to play. Accept for the stalker, there army is quite immobile. So having to defend multi pronged attacks its quite hard to deal with.
It all really comes down to your style of play. If your an eco player, zergs best for you, If your a hyper aggressive player terran is for you. Protoss is somewhere in the middle of both.
Protoss at high levels, Zerg at lower levels.
inb4 Zerg is UP in pro scene. No, just no one plays it.
It also depends on what you consider difficult. Terran is difficult to micro because you also have to macro. Zerg is difficult to macro, but there is no micro. Protoss is kind of in the middle, with its macro and micro. Albeit, Zerg is really weak early game, which can make them hard and Toss usually has a smaller, more powerful army which makes it difficult to respond to harassment.
Its not really a question of which race is the most difficult, its what are the difficulties of playing each race. And the difficulty that a lot of people have when it comes to Zerg in Starcraft I and II is Larvae management(Worse in ScII with larva injections). This is why lots of newer players have trouble with them, they don't know when to make drones or fighting units.
No race is really hard to master, you just need to learn the build orders and timings.
As a zerg i suggest you learn Spanishiwa's build which is on Teamliquids site, its basically a 16 hatch 15 pool, or 13 hatch (to stop protoss from blocking exp), 15 pool.
Also learn this build for Zvz, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjO7gPmUqlo)
The build itself is in the description under the video.
Another suggestion i can give as a zerg player to a protoss player is, DO NOT CHEESE, No matter how tempted you are. Granted you can prolly make it to diamond league on Dark templar, or blocking the zergs expo with pylons and cannons, but once you get to diamond it won't work.
Gregg "idra" Feilds makes the point that high level protoss players are rolling the dice to much when playing at higher levels by doing these sorts of cheeses. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ul3LEtMQzw)
tl:dr
-No race is more difficult, each race has different difficulties.
-It is not harder to master a certain race, just learn the build orders and timings.
-Protoss should not cheese, Zerg players will crush you in Diamond+ leagues. Instead, get the "death ball".
Well, I believe it is possible that there's some sort of imbalance. But who knows :] It's not like I care that much. I plaz the Zerg by the way.
Yes, compared to Terran in Brood War, its much easier for a new player to become "good" with.Originally Posted by zassu
To be honest, the game is pretty balance, minus some flaws which are minor (One could say Infestor, but it would make ZvZ utterly impossible on AM, maybe not TW/KR).
