    BF1942 Revival Group

Our interests are in that of bringing a more stable population to the once great, competitive game that is Battlefield 1942.

This group was made in order to keep this game alive by bringing back old skool players and teams, and to thus liven up the game for the more inexperienced players.

There may have been those of you that wanted to play competition, but for whatever reason, could not. This group can be seen as an attempt for you to experience those things you missed out on.

There may have been those of you who never got to play 1942 in it's prime. For all of us that can remember back then: those were the best times. We just want to have the best experiences and good times on a great game that we ALL can enjoy.

Anyone is welcome to join this group, especially those that want to get back into '42! Long live one of the best FPS games we are still fortunate enought to play on PC!

More Info: Last night in MoonGamers Teamspeak, There was a gathering or so of about 8-9 people that had a discussion. The topic of discussion was fixed on finding any possible ways to bring players and interest back to this game. As this game is now almost 9 years old, it's a pretty obvious fact that the overall population, while swelling at some points, is at an overall decline. We would like to counter that decline by any means necessary and with as much support from the remaining population that still plays this game. While many things were discussed, we broached many key topics such as hosting a tournament with a monetary prize, getting widely reknowned companies to participate or sponsor an event(Xfire, EA or other manufacturing companies) and how to bring veterans back into the game so the more inexperienced players can have a better gaming experience by becoming more experienced themselves. While we do understand this is an uphill battle as new games are constantly coming out, the problems with pb and mechanical errors in general and a lack of a place where all players can unite, congregate and discuss (I.E. CAL, TWL, etc.), the general consensus was this: with enough support from dedicated players who are willing to attempt a change, we can make a difference. We can all agree that this game is extremely enjoyable, be it playing once you get out of work to blow off some steam, or on the other end of the spectrum, taking it very seriously, and we would like to see that continue as long as possible.

For those of you remember when CAL was deciding whether or not to host another '42 season, there were so many players who instantly re-mobilized and re-formed teams. There were even random teams that spawned just for the sake of having a team. Had CAL actually followed through, being a known competitive source for great games, it would of been a success. So, that being the case, why without the remaining '42 communities and a head of intellectual, determined players, backed by sponsors or well known companies, can we not invoke the same response? Some players were not given the opportunity to play this game when they would have liked to because of either being too young, or because they were heading off to college, or whatever various reason. This push can be seen as a collective effort to help those players finally have that experience. They could then tell their friends, "Hey, you have to check out this amazing game that I play..." and then new players could also get reacquainted with the game.

My point is this, if there is anyone out there who enjoys this game in all it's glorious forms and wants to help keep it alive, we're looking for you. Anyone who thinks they could be helpful to this cause is more than welcome to get themselves involved. This is a big if, but with enough support from the remaining 1942 community and it's dedicated players, I'm sure we could see the overall population of this game increase, as well as the great experiences. :]

Above all else, we need player involvement and support! So any criticism or support you can provide is welcomed!

I'm all for 1942, it's the only game I really play, bought it when it came out & been playin fh for 5 years. But people don't like this kindof game now days, they like games where everything is shiny; metal, water, rocks, dirt, plants, ect... people choose the newest battlefield's that are out (I dunno the hell why, bfbc is exactly like the CoD series). 1943 was horrible, Battlefield is still very popular, ranking No. 71st. To-day. I think the best way to get people to play it, is to buy it for them & force them to play online with you (joking). but I've added 5 players to battlefields online community, by just telling people about it. If you REALLY REALLY want people to buy it again, make a commercial!

1942 was the first game i played online.Since i have played just about every new first person shooter game to come out.NONE compare to 1942,it is still the best game by leaps and bounds.

Amazingly enough, no FPS game has ever come close to comparing to 1942. Apart from the sometimes atrocious hit register, the game is flawless. It perfectly incorporates all three aspects of the game to create an amazing gaming experience.

42 was the best... I have come to terms with the fact that I will probably never play a FPS that will surpass it. 42 was just so epic in so many ways when it came out. Now all FPS games these days are so similar.

I recall playing your clan Katy Perry, I would have played your clan under one of these clan tags: [75thFS], 4i (four eye), =CCB= (copper country brigade). These days I carry the [GoGG] tag.

I never had the chance to play in CAL but I did play TWL 8v8 conquest making it to the number one spot with CCB. They were a damn good clan at the time, and we played our share of very competitive clans.

    Cheers,
