Hey, Guild Wars lags a bit for me. Any tips?

Guild Wars is a bit laggy for me. Anyone have tips on how to help reduce it? I already make sure there aren't any other windows open, and I close out some of those programs running in the background.

My gaming rig is on my profile.
And here's my problem. When I go on a district with lots of people, it lags like hell.
Is it my internet connection? My modem always has the PC light blinking violently.

Well here are a few tips.

-Play FullScreen (not window mode)
-Bring down your screen resolution to 640x480 (or near that)
-Bring down the graphic quality to minimum.
-Play in international district, less players usually.
-Make sure you have the latest updates for your Graphic card (probably won't help)
-Find out if their is a cheap way to upgrade your PC. (memory) Perhaps consider upgrading.
-If you stare at the ground their is less to process, I tend to fight looking down on a PC which has trouble... it's kinda lame, but you might end up using it.

Not much you can do if your PC can't handle it.

EDIT: It turned out, that some viruses were causing it to slow down. But thank you for the help!

I hate viruses
