Slaver's Exile - Duncan the Black

I've just recently got back into GW and wanting to finish my hero handbook off and only have Duncan to go.

I used the discordway to get to him but found that discordway doesn't work. Silly me.

What's another good way to kill him?

I'm thinking of a bonder with a tank and some AoE's. with other support professions.

Any tips?

Tried to check GW Guru but that place is cluttered to hell.

There is one tactic you can use against him(that I read about) where you use swap to get the spirits far away from him, then send in a 55 to fight him and have a necro use spoil victor(I think that's what it was) on him. Just keep spoil victor on him and he'll eventually die. The reason for this is life stealing effects don't activate his defense skill.

I didn't use this tactic. I pretty much went in with two or three other guys(and heroes) and took him down with outright damage and extremely good healing(and a lot of re-usable rezes during the fight). I myself put ebon vanguard support, visions of regret and pain inverter to a lot of use against him. Of course, I had to constantly be rezed because of his defensive skill which kept taking me out within seconds of me being back up and renewing my assault after each rez.

Now for the question here. Are you trying to take him down on normal mode or hard mode? As I recall Duncan has more health in normal than hard mode(why I don't know). This coupled with some other factor made it so the assassin's running Duncan before the shadow form nerf could solo him on hard mode but not on normal.

I'll be doing it in NM, or HM if a PUG wants it.

I've used the swap since when i posted this i was oblivious of what to do but i've fought my way to him around 4-5 times now just with wrong setups.

But, i'm thinking of using a BHA ranger with sabway, then myself (Mesmer), with discordway with powerblock

Somewhere in there, try to fit a SV necro though.

I've completed the quest but, it didn't friggin count towards the dungeon guide or record it on the map as a completed dungeon.

Guild Wars just screwed me.

Spent around 30-40k on trying to get duncan done, heroes builds and all!

In the end a guy did run it for me, A shadow form build, he was bloody excellent!

I'll be going through the dungeon guides again, i heard it doesn't take long for each dungeon having the right heroes.

Huh, I didn't realize sin runners could still pull it off after the change to shadow form.

It took a while to get to him though, aggroing the restless dead's to a certain place then using swap on the disenchantment spirits and suiciding so the next run is easier.

Just had to death charge, heart of shadow his way through.
