thats not a game issue. thats related to your comp and what you have that needs to run on startup

its still computer startup. you should post your pc specs and ask in tech support. but this isnt a game issue imo

my specs are on my profile but i know its a pc issue but its not a startup issue because i have next to nothing load on startup but imagine this

Click on a icon -2 seconds to load
    Install game
    Reboot
10 mins to load anything (Program,Login Screen,Boot screen)
and what i mean is that when i install ut2004 it causes everything to run slower after install it and then reboot my pc

so your saying that ut runs slow? or are you saying that after ut install asks you to reboot it takes a few minute for the comp to load everything?
just add me if you rather not wait for replies like this.

seeing as i have the editors choice edition which is like 4-5 gbs installed 9 gbs with mods with my hard drive right now i dont install any extras just the 4-5 gbs so do you think its the fragmentation from installing the game that might slow it down ?

    RE: ut2004 Problem

Took a look at your computer specs from your profile. Here are your major problem (Bold)
    Manufacturer:
    INTEL_
    Processor:
    Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz
    Memory:
    1022MB RAM
    Hard Drive:
    40 GB
    Video Card:
    NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
    Monitor:
    E-Machines
    Sound Card:
    SoundMAX Digital Audio
    Speakers/Headphones:
    Logitech LS11
    Keyboard:
    Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard
    Mouse:
    Microsoft Sidewinder X3
    Mouse Surface:
    7 Year Old Mouse Pad
    Operating System:
Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236)
    Motherboard:
    Intel Desktop Boards
    Computer Case:
    Microcad
Assuming you had a clean computer with nothing at all installed but XP Service Pack 3, that's 4.5 gb, not counting your swap file requirement (at least 4 gb.) Add in another 5 gb or so for UT2004 ECEb and then anything else you have installed, you have a recipe for disaster. Defragmenting before you install UT2004 would help slightly - but the real problem here is your lack of room for virtual memory (swap file) which is basically scratch paper your OS uses to place things that cant fit entirely in memory, and the more fragmented it is, the worse your pc will perform. Changing your swap file to a fixed size from windows-managed will help slightly. In addition your video card and RAM are near the minimum system requirements for UT2004.

What you should do is install a second hard drive to keep all your files and programs on. On an older, low-end emachine (or gateway or dell for that matter) you might not have a second slot for an additional drive, although there are brackets you can get to install it in the space designed for the second cd drive, with oddly enough, most of those low-end machines had room for. The other option is to replace the main drive with a roomier one - at least 100 gb, which nowadays is on the small side. The cost of a suitable drive should be less than $50. Make sure you get one with the correct interface, the majority of drives use SATA now, but yours is almost certainly IDE. I would not recommend using a USB drive for anything other than media/mp3 storage.

But what im trying to do is max my pc out before i decide to get a new one which isnt really much but itll be good in the long run
