Built-in IRC?

Heyyo,

Well, since now XFire has /me command like IRC, I thought I'd be great if XFire had built-in IRC abilities. Just think, you and your clan messing around in your clan's CSS server, and want to just find a random pug scrim, just use XFire in-game chat to log into IRC, and find a pug scrim, and bam, you game. No need to alt-tab at all.. I for one would love to see this. Plus, I do enjoy Pure Pwnage's IRC, and it's kinda annoying to have to play windowed so I can see the IRC window.. Unreal Tournament 2004 had built-in IRC as well.. why can't XFire eh?

Plus, XFire has an IRC channel last I remembered...

That's what chatrooms are for. We dont need a bunch of giant IRC rooms that would be filled with spam.

Many gamers use IRC for group chat, and having the messages popping up into my game just as my xfire messages would be very convenient.

I think its a great idea because it could open up the possibility of some sort of in-game IRC chat! That would be great to have so you dont need to play in windowed or alt-tab to read the IRC chat.

its been suggested before, i wanted this feature then, and i want it now, being able to log into gaming IRC networks and channels in one peice of software would be great.

Instead of opening another program to idle my clans irc #channel could do it in the same one, and could look for matches there too.

in the UI it could have its own tab right next to "freinds" "servers" "files" currently.

As Cownosethe50poundcat, the IRC built-in support should not be for only one, dedicated server... But for "external" ones too, so i can chat with my friends on IRC while i play without alt-tabbing out or playing on Windowed.
Remember: XFire has been made for gamers, and I am a gamer like you (Who's reading, i mean), I hope XFire team will take this in mind. (I know this is a old topic.)

A silence button within the chat box (and in game) would fix this. Maybe notifications only appear after 5 minuets of no activity in the channel.

The poll shows people want it. Those who don't wouldn't be forced to use it.

+1 make xfire support irc! So people dont need to install another irc client when they have it in xfire. Cause irc is used a lot with gamers!

Some features from IRC would be great like notification on nick, when you are only notified when someone has directly writen your nick

I think there actually is an IRC client that does this; just go find it and use that
