It doesn't suck, it just hasn't lived up to it's expectations. There are people, including myself, who feel UT3 is just lacking new content. It has the same weapons, two or three new vehicles, new maps, and a new mode, but let's not forget how they removed invasion.
UT3 is also harder to mod, so naturally there is MUCH less custom content than UT2004 was known for, which was a VITAL part of the game.
(Bastards got rid of my invasion mode, FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU)
I feel UT 3 is the worst of the series, idk why. The guns are there, the graphics are there, the epic battles are there, but still its borring.
First and foremost: They took out Dodge Jumping, it makes me sad.
Lack of Assault and Bombing run modes also made me sad.
Lets face it, by the time UT3 came out... just between UT2004's stock maps, the two community bonus packs, and the UCMP pack... there was no comparison. People haven't been that eager to mod or map for UT3 at all.
Finally, UT2004's single player was dirt simple. Just play matches, don't worry about the story. As for UT3's single-player... Well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wA37UCuPRlM
So in short, UT2004 > UT3... No. UT3 isn't a bad game on it's own merits, it's just trash compared to UT2004.
